As powerful as a pair of Edge M amplifiers are, they are as detailed as they are. The sound is balanced with a depth and clarity highlighted with each note. Cambridge Audio developed the entire Edge system by carefully listening to each component and choosing only the best. Nothing was chosen based on price or specifications. Design
Although it has a minimalist design, Edge M offers complex audio engineering inside. To lift the barriers between you and your favorite music, Cambridge Audio have worked hard to minimize the number of components in the signal path.
More musical detail
Cambridge Audio pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers, resulting in increased performance. With Edge they took this concept further, using two opposing toroidal transformers. This cancels out electromagnetic interference while delivering amazing power and maintaining consistent tonality regardless of the volume at which they are played.
Power without distortion
Using Class A amplification technology was not going to be efficient enough for the Edge M. Instead, a voltage adjustment of a traditional Class AB design was added, thus reducing distortion to inaudible levels. This unique configuration produces less heat and makes the entire system more efficient.
