General presentation of the Mission LX-4 MKII speakers

The LX MKII Series is the latest in a long line of distinguished Mission loudspeakers, joining the award-winning QX Series and the flagship LX Series. The LX MKII maintains the " Inverted Driver Geometry " design, meaning that the length of the paths between the drivers is optimized. Unique at this price level, this arrangement allows the precise crossover to contribute to an improved transient attack.

Perfected through hundreds of hours of auditions by critical Mission acoustic designer Peter Comeau, the Mission LX MKII utilizes innovations from the revered ZX series. Improvements to the renowned DiaDrive bass unit provide superior diaphragm control while a redesigned enclosure stiffening system with high frequency performance further helps create a speaker system that surpasses the price point.

Improved crossover and drivers

One of the critical areas highlighted by the development of the Mission ZX and QX models was the use of serrations on the side surrounding the speaker to help disperse interfering reflections from the surfaces located on the dome and cone. The LX MKII incorporates these serrations on the ring that surrounds the speaker, adding extra finesse to the driver units, providing a smooth frequency response. With minor distortions in speaker response removed, the crossover for each model has been optimized to take advantage of the improved performance. The LX MKII builds on the award-winning LX formula, improving mid and high frequency clarity, and micro-dynamic performance for a superior listening experience.

Inverted Geometry Drive Design

The classic IDG (Inverted Driver Geometry) format positions the high frequencies below the bass/mid driver, meaning that the path length is equalized because the sound waves coincide with the listening height. A proprietary principle that improves "time alignment" and transient performance in Mission speakers.
