The most powerful model in the Wharfedale DIAMOND 12 series, the DIAMOND 12.4 fills the room with sound, and is the largest model in the series. For bigger, more powerful systems and home theater experiences, DIAMOND 12.4 will fill the room with immersive performance. With a 2.5-way configuration and exceptional crossover technology, the DIAMOND 12.3 uses two 6.5" (150mm) Klarity™ drivers for refined mids and lows, while the 1" (25mm) dome tweeter provides open high frequencies .

A reel beyond its class

The coil is wound on a high-strength epoxy/fiberglass core, very unusual for speakers at this price level. This has the advantage of not adding eddy currents and offers superior power handling over an aluminum spool, while being much stiffer than the Kapton type.

Clear highs

The 25mm dome is made from a polyester film with a high-loss coating to deliver open high frequencies. The magnet system and front plate have been optimized for wide dispersion and uncompromising behavior. The front plate is flat and exposes the dome as much as possible; only a very short front panel channel balances the acoustic load and improves SPL measurements.


The crossover network uses an LKR 24dB acoustic topology. This includes inductors often found on high-end speakers, selected because they produce the least distortion. As the coil resistance is higher than a standard laminated steel or ferrite, the magnetic structure of the mid/bass drivers has been modified to compensate, resulting in a fast, clean bass with no distortion from the inductor.


The rear-port enclosure of the DIAMOND 12.4 speakers is precisely dimensioned so that the internal volume works in harmony with the driver unit system to deliver the Doric sonic result. A multi-layer sandwich design provides the identifiable characteristics of the cabinet's sound. Even the resonant properties of the glue between the layers was measured to determine the optimal combination.
