General presentation QED Genesis Silver Spiral Bi-Amp Cable 3m

"Genesis Silver Spiral" is the flagship model of the Signature range. This model represents the crowning of over 40 years of experience and innovation in the field of audio cables of the British company QED.
Genesis Silver Spiral is a cable with a large overall section (5.5 mm2), but which has an extremely low resistance (0.006 ohm/m). The lowest possible resistance helps amplifiers to exercise full control over the loudspeakers (amplifier damping factor can be affected by a cable with higher resistance). The inductance of the cable is also reduced by using a special geometry (the conductors are organized in nine groups intertwined in a triple spiral). This geometry allows the reduction in half of the inductance that the cable would have, if it had been left unarranged. Aircore™ technology, patented by QED, is used to combat the appearance of the skin effect. A cable with conventional construction is affected by the film effect. It is manifested by the propagation of the signal flow at different speeds on the surface of the conductor, especially at high frequencies. The signal flow tends to be faster at its surface and degrades as we get closer to its core. Thus, the effective area that drives the high frequencies is reduced by at least 25% compared to the area of the section.

The cable terminals are Airloc™, a solution developed by QED that ensures a perfect contact between the cable conductors and the plug body, contact made by crimping. The contact is a cold weld between the two materials, without air remaining between the conductors, without the risk of oxidizing over time, ideal for contact resistance and optimal signal transfer.
