General presentation QED Reference Silver Anniversary XT cable
The QED Reference range uses an extremely high-performance, low-density polyethylene dielectric. It allows the substantial reduction of signal losses due to the capacity of the cable.
The conductor used is multifilar, 99.999% OFC (oxygen-free copper), silver-plated, arranged in three layers around a polycore core.
Reference Silver Anniversary XT uses the X-Tube™ technology, patented by QED, to combat the appearance of the skin effect. A cable with conventional construction is affected by the film effect. It is manifested by the propagation of the signal flow at different speeds on the surface of the conductor, especially at high frequencies. The signal flow tends to be faster at its surface and degrades as we get closer to its core. Thus, the effective area that drives the high frequencies is reduced by at least 25% compared to the area of the section. Through the geometric arrangement of the cable in the form of layers of lite wrapped around a dielectric core, X-Tube™ achieves an almost linear transmission, uniform over the entire area of the section, without loss over the entire spectrum of the audio signal.
