- This is a top-of-the-range model, with a 700 body and a Shibata needle ( VMN 50 SH ). The High-End 700 series has a body made of cast aluminum. This results in reduced magnetic and electrical interference, better vibration isolation, more precise frequency response and an improved stereophonic image. The suspension is made of aluminum and has a variable section (they are narrower towards the needle). The Shibata needle is a special geometry (a Fine Line variation), it has a larger contact surface (compared to conical or elliptical). The advantage of the Shibata geometry is a superb response in the mid-high frequency range. The massive construction allows obtaining a needle with a lower mass, with a lower inertia transposed into a better tracking capacity.
