To check the speed - there are two sets of markings, some for countries where the frequency of the supply voltage is 50 Hz (Europe) and others for 60 Hz
Place the state disc on the plate with the inscription up
The pickup engine starts, set to the speed you want to check
Place a strong light source oriented towards the pickup (from top to bottom, fixed position)
The stripes on the marking give the feeling that they are standing still. If they do not sit still and tend to move forward or backward, correct the engine speed.
Use the light source powered by alternating current, not continuous (neon, LED, flashlights, fluorescent)
